LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Double T Varsity Club announced on Wednesday that alumni from the Texas Tech Baseball team will gather on campus this weekend for a reunion, and as part of the festivities, will play a fan-friendly alumni softball game at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park free to the public.
The game is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m., and conclude just in time for Red Raider fans to make it to the John Walker Soccer Complex for Texas Tech’s matchup against Kansas at 7 p.m.
The Varsity Club has confirmed over 40 participants for Friday’s alumni softball game, which includes Clint Bryant (1993-96), Braxton Fulford (2018-21), Nathan Karns (2008-09), Grant Little (2017-18), Ryan Shetter (2016-18), Stephen Smith (2014-16) and more.
Friday’s event is also a prelude to a busy week coming up at Rip Griffin Park as the current Red Raider baseball team will host the Texas Rangers’ Instructional Team on Monday at 3 p.m., followed by the annual Red and Black Series that’s on the schedule for Oct. 29, Oct. 31 and Nov. 2.
