McAlister Dog Park Grand Opening Ceremony

Parks and Recreation would like to invite everyone and their dogs to the grand opening ceremony of McAlister Dog Park located at 6007 Marsha Sharp FWY. The ceremony is on August 19 at 10:30 am. The dog park offers 5 acres with three gated areas for dogs to enjoy. There is a small dog area, an agility area, and a large dog area. It has a restroom facility and ample parking. Candle Making Workshop

LBKids Cooking Class

Previously known as Kids in the Kitchen, students will learn to make or bake their very own easy and simple snack, this month’s recipe “Walking Tacos” or treat. Zumba

Get your feet moving and hearts pumping at Maxey Community Center 4020 30th St! You will move and dance in this aerobic fitness class inspired by Latin American music. Class lead by two Licensed Zumba Instructors. This class is for everyone of all experience levels age 13 and up. Pay a monthly rate of $45, biweekly rate of $30 or do a drop-in class for $5. Children will have an opportunity to do homework, supervised indoor and outdoor recreation, board games, movies and arts and crafts. Quilting/Sewing Club
