With Dak Prescott’s season over, the Cowboys have added a veteran quarterback to fill his roster spot.

Yesterday, Dallas signed Garrett Gilbert from the Browns’ practice squad.  He’ll be the team’s No. 3 quarterback, behind Andy Dalton and Ben DiNucci.

Who is Garrett Gilbert?

Gilbert has hung around the league since 2014 but has appeared in just six games in his career.  He actually has a Super Bowl ring as part of the 2015 Patriots, and most recently led the short-lived AAF in passing yards and QB rating before the league folded.

Prescott is expected to miss 4-6 months after getting surgery to repair a compound fracture in his ankle.

What do you expect from the Cowboys with Andy Dalton at quarterback? I expect stability which is something we haven’t seen from the Cowboys. Just let the red headed wonder man do his stuff…

Can they still compete for a division title in the ‘NFC Least’?
