Homecoming game versus Baylor set for 3 p.m. kick

LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech’s next home game, Oct. 19 versus Baylor, has been selected for a 3 p.m. kickoff, the Big 12 Conference announced Monday as part of its 12-day broadcast selections. Television coverage will be provided nationally on ESPN2.

The Oct. 19 contest will also be Texas Tech’s annual homecoming game, capping a week-long university celebration. As Texas Tech is trending toward announcing its fourth sellout this year, a limited inventory of single-game tickets remain for the Baylor game. All fans are encouraged to wear Red for the Baylor game.

On the field, the Red Raiders will put their Big 12 leading 3-0 record to the test against a long-time foe as it will be the 83rd all-time meeting against the Bears. After games versus Arizona, Arizona State and Cincinnati, this will be the first of the season against a charter program of the Big 12 and an even deeper connection as the two were also former Southwest Conference members having met annually since 1956. It’s been a back-and-forth series that Baylor narrowly leads with a 41-40-1 advantage after the Red Raiders topped the Bears in Waco in 2023.

The Red Raiders are 19-9 against Baylor since the two joined the Big 12 prior to the 1996 season, that record includes an 8-1 record for the Red Raiders at home as Big 12 foes.
