Keep Lubbock Beautiful Annual Art Contest Winners

The Keep Lubbock Beautiful Program (KLB), with its partners at the City of Lubbock Solid Waste Department, are proud to announce the winners and honorary mentions of the annual art contest. The contest encompasses youth from kindergarten through 12th grade, in Elementary, Middle and High School categories.

Emma Noelle Robertson, Jaina Weston and Kase Clevenger took the top three prizes with Javen Garcia, Skyri Lopez and Axel Avalar achieving honorary mentions. The KLB Board reviewed over forty pieces of artwork representing the selected theme of ‘What would a day without water look like?’

Winners receive a $100 prize, with honorary mentions receiving $50 each. Additionally, one of the top three pieces will be selected to be featured on the side of a Solid Waste garbage truck. The Annual Art Contest is held to promote different aspects of beautification and waste reduction utilizing unique themes for each competition.

These six participants will be recognized at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Municipal Garden and Arts Center, located on 4215 University. The public is invited to help celebrate these young artists at this event.
