LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders and head coach Krista Gerlich have announced the addition of University of Texas at Austin transfer Ashley Chevalier Tuesday.

As a junior, Chevalier led Sierra Canyon to the 2019 California Open Division State Championships, as the Trailblazers went 33-1 overall.

Chevalier enrolled at UT ahead of the 2020-21 season and made 28 appearances and two starts. Chevalier averaged 2.9 points per game while shooting 38.4 percent from the floor. Chevalier recorded three games with at least 10 points.

The Californian will enroll at Tech later this summer and will have three years of eligibility.

Chevalier joins Bailey Maupin, Kilgore College product Tara Kessner and high school signee Kilah Freelon in the Lady Raiders 2022 recruiting class.

“Ashley is an exciting sign for us and will bring a tenacity to our team both offensively and defensively. She is a great on-ball defender that will cause havoc in the back court by making the tough plays like taking charges and applying resistance on the ball. Ashley has good speed and can get down hill to distribute the basketball. She can shoot the 3-ball and has a high basketball IQ. Our fans will love to watch Ashley play because she never takes a possession off, competes at a high level and will be a great floor leader. She also has experience in the Big 12 and understands the grind of conference play. It’s a good day for Lady Raider basketball with the addition of Ashley Chevalier.”
