Red Raiders conclude day one of Michael Johnson Invite

WACO, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up day one of the Michael Johnson Invite Friday night at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.

The morning kicked off with the men’s pole vault competition as Carson Dittel paced the way for Tech placing third with a SB height of 5.20m (17-0 ¾). Not too long after, Konner Wood finished third in the hammer throwing 61.76m (202-7).

In the women’s long jump, Ruta Lasmane opened her season in the event leaping 6.28m (20-7 ¼) (2.8w), placing fourth.

The women’s pole vault saw a 5-5-6 finish, led by Olivia Cade clearing 4.05m (13-3 ½). Kaitlyn Banas and Kashlee Dickinson both cleared the same height, tying for sixth place.

Devin Roberson paced the men’s discus crew coming in second with a heave of 58.17m (190-10).

Zoe Burleson finished third in the discus at 52.76m (173-1)
Carl Hicks posted a 200m time of 21.64 (1.6w) for a new outdoor PB as he placed 23rd
Daniel Omah secured a new PB in the 200m running a 21.81 (0.9), He placed 27th
Melanie Jacobs ran a 5-second PB in the 1500m going 4:41.22 placing 12th
Liam Walsh ran a 4-second PB with a time of 3:51.64 as he placed 4th
