  • This will be the third straight season Texas Tech tees off its season at the Carmel Cup. The Red Raiders’ best finish was in their first appearance in 2022 (6th, 1113)
  • The 18-hole historic course is rated the No. 1 public golf course in the country.
  • All eight teams competing at the Carmel Cup finished the 2024 season ranked inside the Scoreboard Top 60, which includes No. 55 Texas Tech; the top-ranked team is No. 9 Texas A&M.
  • At last year’s Carmel Cup, sophomore Lauren Zaretsky claimed a top-five position, finishing tied for fourth. Zaretsky fired 68-69-73 to finish at 6-under-par.
  • Also returned to the Carmel Cup from last season’s team are Maja Ambroziak, Kylee Loewe and Libby Flemming. Ambroziak finished tied for 40th while the others finished outside the Top 40.
  • Zaretsky led the Red Raiders in 2023-24 as a sophomore with a 71.7 season scoring average and was Tech’s representative in the NCAA postseason. She was selected as an individual to participate in the Las Vegas Regional, which was where she concluded her sophomore campaign.
  • Texas Tech will have one newcomer in its lineup this weekend, Danique Stokmans. She joins the Red Raiders as a junior who previously played for Oregon State.
  • This weekend’s tournament is a unique format, in which it counts five scores out of six players. Which is different from the customary five players participating and counting four of those scores.
