Red Raiders to open 2025 season at NFCA Leadoff Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the schedule for the 22nd annual NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida on February 6-9. The Red Raiders will be one of 17 teams to open their season in the showcase.

Tech will begin its highly anticipated season against Marshall at 6 p.m. CT on Feb. 6 before playing back-to-back games against Mississippi State and Duke on Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.

The Red Raiders will then face Big 10 teams Nebraska and Iowa on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, with a potential matchup between All-Americans Jordy Bahl and NiJaree Canady in the circle when they face the Huskers.

Tech will close the showcase with a game against Kennesaw State at noon on Feb. 9.

This will be Texas Tech’s first time competing in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. All games will be streamed live (free) on the GameChanger App with contests on fields 8 and 9 featuring a dedicated broadcast team and a multi-camera view.
