Dubbed the “Cheers to 50 Years” celebration, South Plains Mall marks five decades of bringing the latest
trends in fashion and lifestyle to the region. From July 26 through August 31, shoppers will have the chance to
be a part of the 50th-anniversary celebration that honors the past while looking forward to many exciting years
to come.

South Plains Mall will host a series of center-wide events and activities focusing on the fashion, art, dining, and
community giving synonymous with the West Texas-based shopping destination since its inception in 1972.

Legacy of Giving Back

▪ First and foremost, to celebrate five decades of community and nonprofit partners whose tireless efforts South Plains Mall has supported through the decades, the center is calling on shoppers to pay it forward through its “Get One, Give One Denim & Donation Drive” benefiting Children’s Home of Lubbock this Back-to-School shopping season. Bring your gently loved denim and as you shop for your kids, bring a duplicate pair of jeans to Grand Court and receive a thank you from an array of retailers, including Chick-fil-A, Windsor, H&M, Jamba, The Cheesecake Factory, The Paleta Bar, Potato Corner, Mrs. Fields, Gong Cha, Bubba’s 33, Premiere Cinemas, Dorothy Gene’s and more!

▪ The community is invited to support Children’s Home of Lubbock from Saturday, July 30 – Saturday, August 27 by texting GIVE to 806.305.0400 for all the details and to make a monetary donation.

Decades of Memories

While every anniversary is a chance to celebrate important milestones, South Plains Mall has been the epicenter of some of the most personal and unforgettable memories from a baby’s first visit with Santa and that high school food court dinner and movie date to prom dress shopping, buying an engagement ring and
even outfitting a first home. South Plains Mall invites shoppers to submit their favorite memories, which will be showcased on the center’s digital Birthday Memory Board to preserve these memories. Photos will be shared via southplainsmall.com and on the center’s social media handles. Starting now, shoppers can share their photos by uploading them via their social media channels and tagging Shop South Plains Mall (@shopsouthplainsmall) and are also
encouraged to use the hashtag #Cheersto50YearsofSPM

The celebration continues as Museum of Texas Tech University Clothing & Textiles division partners for its first event exhibit at South Plains Mall. Specially curated in celebration of the anniversary, the installation, on display in the north court, will transport shoppers to the 70s chic fashion worn across the South Plains region.
