Texas Tech wraps up Corky/Crofoot meet

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team concluded the Corky/Crofoot meet Saturday afternoon as Tech now turns its attention to the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor championships in two weeks.

 

The meet kicked off at 7:30 morning with the women’s 10k race led by Juliet Cherubet coming in first with a time of 34:22.42. Anastasia Chepkorir was behind her in second clocking in at 35:.38.67. In the men’s 5k, Isaac Hernandez earned the victory crossing the end line at 14:57.45.

 

Stacy Brown Jr. took the win in the triple jump bounding 16.18m (53-1) (0.3w). The men’s discus witnessed Jacob Mechler drop an eight-foot PB mark throwing 58.60m (192-3) as he placed third. On the women’s side, Zoe Burelson finished second with a PB mark of 57.96m (190-2).

Konner Wood won the men’s B section of the discus with a PB heave of 55.97m (181-8)

Tech will have the next week off before traveling to Waco for the Big 12 Outdoor Championships.
