Yellow House River Fire Update #3

Lubbock Fire Rescue will be conducting a burn out operation at the Yellow House River Fire site on August 27, 2024. Pending proper weather conditions, this burn will start early Tuesday morning and will continue through the afternoon. This burn out operation is to reduce the risk of fire spread for this site.
The burn out will take place near the intersection of East 50th Street and East Loop 289, where personnel from Lubbock Fire Rescue will work to ensure the burn is conducted safely and effectively. The goal of the burn out is to remove excess brush, dead vegetation, and other fuels that could contribute to fire spread on this site.
Individuals in the area can expect to see a large amount of smoke.
