Anyone can come and enjoy this fun card game. This group is open to anyone and all you have to do is swing by and play. Seasoned veterans to complete newbies, all are welcomed.

Don’t have cards? We allow proxies of all kinds and have a few decks for you to use. Even if you haven’t tried the game, come on by and you might find a new hobby or even a new favorite game. We would love to see you all at Hodges for our weekly Magic the Gathering Night!

Limited chess boards available, but you can bring your own if you’d like.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, this chess club offers something for everyone. These are friendly matches so you’ll be able to challenge yourself and improve your chess game.

Are you looking to get ESL certification? Lubbock Parks and Recreation is partnering with Literacy Lubbock to bring free ESL classes to the Hodges Community Center. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 1:30pm to 3:00pm and Fridays from 10:00am to 11:30am. Registration for classes is open at LiteracyLubbock.org. You can also check their website for more information about the work Literacy Lubbock does in our community.

Crafts with Ms. Cat
4 Week Class: June 4 – 25, Tuesdays, 2-3 p.m.
8 Week Class: June 3 – July 22, Mondays, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.

Ages 6-12
This class will take students through artistic elements and apply them to crafting. This is a great opportunity for your child explore their creativity and learn new techniques in a safe and supportive environment. The class costs $64 for the 8-week class and $32 for the 4-week class, and is sure to provide your child with a wonderful experience that they will remember forever.

Children ages 7-15 are invited to practice their painting skills this Summer at the Hodges Community Center with instructor Cat Argueta!

This painting workshop will lead kids in a class on how to paint a cool cactus with sunglasses! Our instructor will guide them through this easy tutorial and offer space for creative interpretation. No experience needed and all supplies included!
