Houston evens series with shutout win

HOUSTON, Texas – Texas Tech (27-17, 7-13) fell 8-0 in six innings to Houston (24-25, 4-19) on Saturday afternoon.


The Red Raiders offense was limited to just one hit but did draw five walks, however they were not able to bring across any runs.


The Cougars put up two runs in the first, third and fourth innings and added two more in the sixth thanks to 10 hits.


Houston’s pitcher, Gigi Solis, recorded the best outing of her young career pitching 6.0 innings and allowing just one hit while striking out two batters.


The Cougars one and two hitters had their way as they combined to go 6-for-6, scoring six of Houston’s runs.


UP NEXT: The two teams will play in a rubber match tomorrow, beginning at 12 p.m.
