Lubbock ISD: Bayer Fund Donates $25,500 to Ramirez ES Garden Project
Representatives from the Bayer Fund will be at Ramirez Elementary School tomorrow to present a $25,500 grant to fund their new school garden project.
The Ramirez ES World Garden will open up unique learning opportunities for students to be partners in the learning process while focusing on healthy choices and agricultural sustainability.
The Lubbock Master Gardeners Association has also been involved in planning the garden layout and will assist with the project rollout.
The check presentation will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6 at Ramirez Elementary School, 702 Ave. T. Representatives will include Jason Wildman from the Bayer Fund; Lubbock ISD Superintendent Dr. Kathy Rollo; Ramirez ES Principal Melissa Hernandez; members of the Lubbock Master Gardeners Association; and the Ramirez ES parents who worked on the grant application: Stephanie Barnes, Erica Irlbeck, and Lena S. Kharrat.
