Prayers Needed for More Local Advocates
CASA of the South Plains is asking local churches and community members to pray for children in the foster care system. Today, there are approximately 800 children in foster care in the South Plains. Every one of these children have experienced some kind of abuse or neglect and desperately need our prayers and support.
CASA exists solely to advocate for these most vulnerable children in our community. CASA Volunteer Advocates tirelessly work to make sure these children are safe and have the resources and connections they need to grow and thrive, but most importantly they advocate for the child’s permanency. But CASA cannot continue to do this without help from the community.
“From the deepest part of our hearts we are reaching out for people who will answer the call to help these precious children,” said Jaclyn Morris, Chief Executive Officer of CASA. “Children entering foster care at no fault of their own desperately need someone they can trust. They greatly need a community member to choose them, to advocate for them, and help them know they are not alone.”
CASA is asking the people of the South Plains to come together for our local children in foster care and commit to praying for their needs:
- Please pray for community members and churches to step up and support these children by becoming Volunteer Advocates.
- Pray for the physical and emotional safety for all children in foster care.
- Pray for provision for these children, such as food, shelter, and safe and loving care givers.
- Pray for comfort and healing from the trauma they’ve experienced.
