Tiglea falls to No. 6 Crawley in NCAA Singles Championships

STILLWATER, Okla. – Junior Cristina Tiglea dropped her Round of 64 match in the NCAA Singles Championships to No. 6-ranked Fiona Crawley of North Carolina on Monday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

Tiglea was able to win two games in her debut, but Crawley, the defending NCAA Doubles champion and ITA National Player of the Year, took the contest by a 6-2, 6-0 score.

The Milan, Italy native finishes her impressive junior season with an overall 19-10 singles record and a 13-6 dual singles record, all at the court one position. In addition, she posted nine ranked singles wins to lead the Lady Raiders.

Up next, No. 5 Metka Komac and Avelina Sayfetdinova begin their journey for the doubles titles starting tomorrow.
