TJ Pompey Tabbed Preseason Third Team All-American by Perfect Game

LUBBOCK, Texas – With less than 40 days until first pitch, preseason award season is underway, and Texas Tech was well represented, as sophomore infielder TJ Pompey was tabbed a Third Team All-America selection by Perfect Game Baseball.

A native of Coppell, Pompey was a two-time Freshman All-American in 2024 and was a Big 12 All-Freshman selection after hitting .279 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs. Pompey also added 12 stolen bases, 11 doubles and a pair of triples finishing with an OPS of .905.

One of the inaugural ‘2 PM’ Patrick Mahomes adidas athletes, Pompey finished fourth on the Red Raiders in home runs, third in RBIs and sixth in runs scored. He finished inside the top-20 in the Big 12 in RBIs, triples and stolen bases.

Pompey and the Red Raiders open the 2024 season at No. 19 North Carolina on Friday, Feb. 14. First pitch from UNCs Boshamer Stadium is set for 3 p.m. (CT).
