Additional Work Zone at 34th & Slide Starting Monday, Drivers Should Avoid Area

Beginning Monday, October 9, the City of Lubbock will install traffic control in a work zone for westbound traffic at the intersection of 34thStreet and Slide Road.

There is an existing work zone in place for the construction of a 2022 bond project at this same location. This additional work zone is for an emergency sewer system repair project. This repair will last approximately 10 days, at that time this additional work zone will be removed and the existing work zone will remain in place.

During this time, east and westbound traffic will be significantly impacted. Citizens are STRONGLY encouraged to avoid this intersection. Please use great caution to avoid conflicts with workers and equipment if travel is required in this area.

Please call 775-2608 with questions or concerns.
