Arlington Renegades Sign Jonathan Garibay

ARLINGTON, TEXAS (April 19, 2024) – The Arlington Renegades today announced that the team has signed kicker Jonathan Garibay.

Garibay, 24, played collegiately at Riverside City College (2017-18) and Texas Tech University (2019-21). He spent one full season as Texas Tech’s starting kicker in 2021, going 15-for-16 on field goal attempts and converting 49-of-50 PATs, becoming one of the most accurate kickers in the nation, in addition to being named to the All-Big 12 first team by conference coaches.

After going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft, Garibay inked a deal with the Dallas Cowboys. He would later be released and sign with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats, where he’d spend the 2023 preseason.

The Renegades (0-3) face the Houston Roughnecks (0-3) in the team’s next game on Sunday afternoon at Rice Stadium in Houston (2 p.m. CT on FS1 / FOX Sports on SiriusXM).
