Mito Pereira, a former student and men’s golfer at Texas Tech University, was recently featured on the newly released docu-series, ‘Full Swing’ on Netflix. The eight-show series follows well-known golfers on the PGA Tour circuit, ranging from Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Tony Finau and Rory McIlroy.

Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, Joaquin Nieman and Joel Dahmen are among the other golfers that received spot light within the series, following around the golfers highlighting the struggles and successes in the life of a PGA Tour golfer.

Pereira can be seen on episode seven of the highly-anticipated series, as the crew follows him throughout his rookie year on the PGA Tour, highlighting his appearances at events such as the Waste Management Open and the PGA Championship. It was last year where Pereira’s name would be shouted from everyone's mouth, as the PGA Tour newcomer would sit in first place as he entered the final round of the 2022 PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club.

Pereira entered his Sunday final round sitting over top players such as 2022 U.S. Open Winner Matt Fitzpatrick, major-assassin Will Zalatoris and 2022 Open Champion Cam Smith. On the 18th hole of his round and the 72nd hole of the tournament, Pereira would make the mistake in making a poor golf swing at a poor time, blocking his tee shot to the right, landing into a creek marked as a penalty area. As a result, Pereira would have to take a drop and attempt to get home in two, saving his par and winning the PGA Championship.

Instead, he would leave his third shot out to the left and struggle finding the cup while green side, eventually making a double bogey on his final hole. In the series, Pereira is seen under a severe microscope during his collapse at the 2022 PGA Championship but holds and handles himself well as all cameras are pointed in his direction. The former Red Raider has not won yet since being on tour, and has just recently signed a deal to
join the controversial Saudi-backed golf league known as LIV.

The LIV golf tour was another topic highly focused on in the new ‘Full Swing’ series, as members Ian Poulter and Brooks Koepka are two golfers that have joined the league and speak on their decision in the process of joining the league in the episodes they are seen. The decision for the young-Chilean to join LIV still remains unclear, as he has not spoken to the media since his recent decision to jump ship along with his friend and former-PGA Tour player, Sebastian Munoz.

During his time at Texas Tech, Pereira had the honor of being named to the Big 12 All Championship Team, had three-top 5 finishes in his season and even finished in second place at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate.
