Red Raiders wrap up day one in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The women’s pole vault and 200m sprints closed out day one of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic Friday evening inside the Albuquerque Convention Center.

 

The afternoon started with the women’s pole vault with Ryleigh Redding pacing the way for the Red Raiders. Redding finished (insert) topping out at 4.09m (13-4 ¾). Olivia Cade and Sarah Tackitt bowed out of the competition at 3.94m (12-11).

 

Later in the evening, Courtney Lindsey kicked it off for TTU running in the 200m. Lindsey, running the 200m for the second time this year, clocked in at 20.58 to take second overall. His time from earlier this year at the Corky Classic of 20.41 remains the top NCAA time. Adam Clayton made his 200m season-debut, posting a 20.97 (16th).

 

Kiah Dubarry-Gay also made her 200m season-debut as she clocked in at 24.05 (25th). Rosemary Chukwuma was a DNS.

 

The men’s pole vault closes out the final day of the meet Saturday beginning at 2:30 CT. Several Red Raiders are also set to compete in the 60m sprint and hurdles.
