Texas Tech takes No. 4 Seminoles to the end

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – The Texas Tech softball team (2-2) lost a heartbreaker to No. 4 Florida State on Saturday at JoAnne Graf Field.

The Red Raiders and Seminoles traded blows all game with Tech jumping out to an early 2-0 lead as Carson Armijo hit a two-run double before Florida St. tied it in the third.

Riley Love got Tech right back in the lead with a solo shot in the fourth but again, Florida State answered. The Seminoles got four runs in the fourth to take a 6-3 lead.

Tech strung together some hits as an Armijo sac fly got the scoring started in the fifth. Kailey Wyckoff reached on an error that scored Logan Halleman and Dee McClarity followed it up with a single to score Wyckoff.

Then, Love struck again hitting a two-run homer to give Tech the 8-7 lead.

Tech had the Seminoles down their final out with the bases loaded before a single up the middle scored two runs and won the game.

 

UP NEXT: The Red Raiders will face (RV) Charlotte at 9 a.m. (CT) tomorrow.
