Red Raiders complete Friday night competition

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track and field team wrapped up day one of the Corky/Crofoot Shootout Friday night at the Fuller Track and Field Complex. Prior to the running events, Tech honored its 12 men and 12 women seniors.

The track was filled with multiple Tech runners placing atop the standings. The men’s 4×100 team put down a new SB time of 38.72, moving to No. 6 all-time for Tech. That team was made up of Josh Bour, Shawn Brown, Jack Marshall, and Antoine Andrews.

In the short and high hurdles, Destiny Smith and Naomi Krebs placed first and second at 12.92 and 12.94. The wind was gauged at 3.1. Antoine Andrews led the men’s side at 13.49 (1.3w), while Devontae Ford clocked in at 13.61 (1.3w) for a new PB.

It was a 1-2-3 finish in the women’s 100m in the same heat but the wind gauge read 4.1 m/s. Alyssa Colbert led the pack at 10.96, Rosemary Chukwuma in second at 10.97 as Success Umukoro finished third at 11.23.

Adeshina Temitope was one centimeter away from tying the school record as she placed second clearing 1.88m (6-2).

Olivia Cade set a new outdoor PB in the pole vault at 4.07m (13- 4 ¼). She finished 2nd
Omamuyovwi Erhire won the men’s high jump at 2.17m (7-1 ½)
Chukwuma ran her second 200m of the year taking first with a time of 22.96
Claire Lowrey secured an all-time best in the high jump clearing 1.85m (6-0 ¾)
Kyeese Hollands finished 2nd in the javelin with a SB 48.59m (158-9)
