Red Raiders drop game one to Cowgirls

STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The Red Raiders (26-14, 6-10) held tough for the first three innings, but Oklahoma State (37-8, 14-5) got their bats working as they went on to win 11-3 in six innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Tech got the scoring started with three runs in the third inning as Maddy Wright led off the inning with a walk which was followed by a Kennedy Crites hit to put runners at first and second.

Aubrey Barnhart advanced Crites over to third and a Kailey Wyckoff single drove her in. Arriana Villa followed up Wyckoff’s at-bat with a double into right center to bring in two more runs and give Tech an early 3-0 lead.

The Cowgirls retaliated quickly, putting up four runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-3 lead.

Oklahoma State followed up that inning with one run in the fourth, five runs in the fifth and the game-winning run in the sixth.

MILESTONES:

Kailey Wyckoff and Arriana Villa improved their on-base streak to 21 and 18 games, respectively.
