Adeshina, Dean garner weekly conference honors

IRVING, Texas – Freshman high jumper Temitope Adeshina and senior sprinter Caleb Dean were named the Big 12 Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Adeshina earns her second weekly honor in as many days as she was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week Tuesday afternoon. Her 1.96m (6-5) clearance heads into the weekend as the top mark in the world and NCAA.
Dean opened his 2024 season last Saturday posting a 60m hurdles finals time of 7.55 for the NCAA lead and second in the world. He also ran the first leg of Tech’s 4×400 team that posted an NCAA-leading time of 3:04.71.
