LUBBOCK, Texas – Week four of the NFL season once again featured seven Red Raider alums on active 53-man rosters. Sam Eguavoen was added to the Jets’ week three active roster bolstering the alums number to eight, but Dolphins wide receiver Erik Ezukanma was moved to the reserve/non-football injury list to dip the number back to seven this week.

Jordyn Brooks – LB, Seattle Seahawks (2016-19) 
Brooks shined on the big Monday Night stage against the New York Giants recording 10 tackles (four solo), two sacks, one tackle for loss, and recovered a fumble. Brooks’ fumble recovery was picked up on the Giants’ 15-yard line and returned to the 7-yard line setting a touchdown two plays later in the first quarter. The Seahawks went on to win 24-3 and improved its record to 3-1.

Sam Eguavoen – LB, New York Jets (2011-14) 
Eguavoen saw 17 special teams snaps accounting for 65 percent of the special teams’ snaps. The Jets lost to the Chiefs 23-20 to drop their record to 1-3.

Kerry Hyder – DL, San Francisco 49ers (2009-13) 
Hyder played in 21 total plays, 19 on defensive and two on special teams at home versus Arizona. The 49ers defeated the Cardinals to improve its record to 4-0.

Patrick Mahomes II – QB, Kansas City Chiefs (2014-16)
Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 23-20 victory over the Jets in front of a star-studded crowd on Sunday night. Mahomes threw for 203 yards on 18 completions along with one touchdown. He also rushed for 51 yards on seven attempts. The Chiefs are now 3-1 this season.

Terence Steele – OL, Dallas Cowboys (2016-19)
Starting at right tackle, Steele participated in 100 percent of the offensive plays (70) and 27 percent (7) of the special teams’ snaps. The Cowboys dominated the Patriots, 38-3, improving their record to 3-1.

Broderick Washington Jr. – DL, Baltimore Ravens (2016-19)
Washington recorded three solo tackles, one of which came from his first sack of the season that dropped the Browns for negative six yards. The Ravens handled the Browns comfortably with a 28-3 win to push their record to 3-1.

Tyree Wilson – DE, Las Vegas Raiders (2020-22)
Wilson participated in 45 percent of the defensive snaps (29) as well as one special teams snap on Sunday at the Los Angeles Chargers. He recorded one tackle in the Raiders’ 24-17 loss to the Chargers. The Raiders record now stands at 1-3.

Sept. 5: WR Antoine Wesley was released from the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad.
Sept. 11: The New York Jets announced less than four hours prior to kickoff on Monday night that LB Sam Egauvoen had been elevated from the practice squad and onto its Monday night roster. He will return to the practice squad unless announced otherwise by the organization.
Sept. 12: The Indianapolis Colts announced it signed OL Jack Anderson to its practice squad. Two days later it was announced he would be designated to the practice squad injured list.
Sept 16: The New York Jets announced on Saturday that LB Sam Egauvoen had been elevated from the practice squad and onto its game day roster to take on the Cowboys. It was his second elevation in as many weeks. He will return to the practice squad unless announced otherwise by the organization. Each practice-squad player can be elevated for a maximum of three regular-season games in the same league year. After this, any subsequent elevation of the player will require the team to add him to their 53-man Active/Inactive list.
Sept 23: After being elevated from the practice squad and to the active roster each of the first two weeks of the season, the New York Jets announced on Saturday that Sam Eguavoen had been signed to the active 53-man roster in time for the Jets’ week three contest versus the New England Patriots.
Sept. 29: The Miami Dolphins announced it has placed Erik Ezukanma on the Reserve/non-football injury list.
