Tech wraps up preseason against NAU

LUBBOCK, Texas – Sophomore Kilah Freelon collected a double-double with a team-best 17 points and 14 rebounds as the Texas Tech Lady Raiders concluded their preseason slate in an exhibition game against Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon at the United Supermarkets Arena.

NAU won in a close game, but the Lady Raiders had impressive performances from both Freelon and Jasmine Shavers. Freelon went 9-of-10 from the free-throw line and also added three assists, three steals and two blocks against the Lumberjacks, while Shavers was close to getting a double-double after tallying 13 points and nine rebounds.

Senior Jazmaine Lewis was almost perfect from the field, going 5-of-6 on the day with 10 points and a couple rebounds. Junior Rhyle McKinney was the fourth Lady Raider to have a double-digit performance after putting up 10 points in the game, going 4-of-7 from the field with two three-pointers.

Over 600 fans were in attendance today to help Texas Tech raise money for the Maui United Way and help fund wildfire relief efforts in Hawaii.

The Lady Raiders begin their season in 10 days with a season-opening game against UTRGV on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. in the USA.
