Spirit of ’45 Day Event Saturday August 12

Join the Silent Wings Museum on Spirit of ’45 Day Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10 am – 5 pm as we honor the World War II Generation. In addition to FREE admission all day, a special presentation at 2 pm will provide an opportunity to say “Thank you!” to those who currently serve in the United States Air Force.

Meet a group of intrepid Air Force women serving our country at Cannon Air Force Base. Learn how their unique roles keep American aircraft flying. The women will speak about their unique roles in today’s United States Air Force. They will share how they have stepped forward to answer the call to duty, serving honorably in defense of all the World War II generation held dear.

Immediately following the presentation, enjoy the opening reception for our current featured exhibit. From Promise to Production explores the design and manufacturing of the CG-4A glider, a truly unique aircraft only flown in World War II. Enjoy guided tours of the exhibit and refreshments.

There will be children’s activities and guided tours of the exhibit all afternoon.
