Tech finished 5-0 in Denton

DENTON, Texas – Texas Tech handled business against North Texas (6-7) as they won 5-2 to put the finishing touches on a perfect 5-0 weekend in the UNT Tournament.

Maddie Kuehl did what she’s been doing all year as she went 7.0 innings and recorded four strikeouts while allowing just two runs to improve to 4-2 on the year.

The offense backed her up with an early run in the second inning thanks to a Logan Halleman single. Tech then put up two more in the fifth and seventh.

Kailey Wyckoff doubled in a run in the fifth before Carson Armijo rocked a two-run homer over the right-field fence in the seventh, her first of the season.

The Red Raiders were the only team to leave the UNT Tournament undefeated and improved to 12-3 on the season, their best start since 2019.

UP NEXT:  The Red Raiders will play New Mexico on Wednesday before playing their first home games next weekend.
